St. Moritz

Winter in St. Moritz: skiing, cross-country and events on your doorstep

St. Moritz sits at 1,856 m in the Upper Engadin and is one of the sunniest places in Switzerland – in winter, near-guaranteed snow meets a deep blue sky. Twice host of the Winter Olympics (1928 and 1948), it remains a meeting point for winter sports, culture and good food.

Ski slope in the Corviglia ski area above St. Moritz

Skiing on Corviglia, Corvatsch and Diavolezza

The Chantarella funicular is a six-minute walk from the apartment and takes you straight into the Corviglia ski area. Together with Corvatsch and Diavolezza, around 350 km of slopes await – from wide sunny pistes to the glacier.

Cross-country trail on the frozen Lake Silvaplana

Cross-country skiing in the Engadin

The Engadin is one of the best cross-country regions in Europe: over 200 km of groomed trails, many of them flat across the frozen lakes.

Winter hiking and sledging

Groomed winter trails run along the lakes and through the Staz forest. The Preda–Bergün sledge run and the descent from Muottas Muragl are among the longest in Switzerland.

Child skiing with the St. Moritz ski school

Ski schools, mountain guides and heliskiing

Children’s ski course, private instructor, ski tour with a mountain guide or heliski – St. Moritz has the right offer for every level. The two large ski schools have their own kids’ areas; the smaller ones specialise in private lessons. Book early in high season.
